Literally in the steps of Jesus

What an amazing day.  How I wish everyone at Our Savior's, all our family and friends could have been with us today as we celebrated Holy Communion on the Sea of Galilee, visited the site of the sermon on the mount, the feeding of the 5000, the place on the beach where Jesus appeared and asked Peter if he loved him, the city of Nazareth, the town of Cana where Jesus turned water into wine and especially the town of Capernaum where you can stand just where Jesus and his disciples stood.  A great day.

The weather has been warm, but not too hot...a little muggy.  For all those who are concerned with safety...couldn't feel safer.  A wonderful place the Galilee!   Here are some pictures from today's pilgrimage.  IF you want even more pictures go back in this blog to January 2012 and the pictures from Kelly and mines trip then...here are the new....

where Jesus spoke

One of the most iconic places in the Holy Land.
Evidence from 28 AD that this spot was
remembered and commemorated as where Jesus
feed the 5000.  The Mosaic is an early Christian floor showing
the loaves and fish

the place where Jesus had breakfast

Notice the shape of these stones?  Jesus
asked Peter three times....do you love me?
These stones are on the beach where this
happened as a reminder of the question.

What could be cooler.  Linda standing in the 4th
century Synagogue in Capernaum, which
was build right on top of the first century
synagogue where Jesus taught and
healed.  That exact spot.  Very powerful
place.
